Baker Police round up outstanding warrants
BAKER - Police fanned out across Baker this morning to serve a bundle of outstanding warrants.
Officers made 10 arrests and knocked on 200 doors during the roundup, according to Police Chief Mike Knaps, in an effort to clear the city's warrant backlog.
It comes after a month-long amnesty program to encourage people with warrants to pay their fines and avoid arrests.
Knaps said people also paid approximately $2,000 in court fines today to avoid going to jail.
