BATON ROUGE - LSU Police arrested a man they said stole thousands of dollars worth of gear from the locker room at the Football Operations Building.

Police arrested Justin Aaron Miller, 24, on Wednesday in suspicion of three counts of simple burglary. They said he has no affiliation with LSU.

LSU Police said on Nov. 2 they were told somebody took multiple items from the football locker room, including jerseys, two helmets, a pair of shoulder pads, football cleats and other clothing items.

Investigators found surveillance footage of the thief, and said on Jan. 2 two people who worked at the Football Ops building spotted someone they thought was the suspect at the Mall of Louisiana. Sheriff's deputies at the mall detained Miller, and LSUPD said during questioning he admitted to taking the items.

Police said they also recovered about $3,000 worth of items taken from the locker room at Miller's residence.

Investigators believe other suspects were involved, and are continuing their investigation. Anyone with more information about these thefts should contact LSUPD at (225) 578-3231. You will remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
