Arrest details in child rape case
BATON ROUGE - Jerome Jackson, 39, became the seventh person charged in the repeated rape of a 12-year-old girl. Investigators in East Baton Rouge released the disturbing details, including comments made by the victim, Friday night.
The victim said Jackson was a friend of her mother's boyfriend, Ivy Martin, and she was pawned off to Jackson after a shower in November.
In Jackson's arrest affidavit the unidentified young victim said Martin and Jackson were sitting on a sofa in the living room when she heard Martin say, "doesn't she look good," and Jackson agreed, "yes."
The young victim said she also heard Martin ask, "do you want some of that?" The 12-year-old said Jackson replied, "yea just once."
Following the conversation, the victim says Jackson came into her bedroom and raped her while Martin watched and touched himself in the doorway. The victim said Jackson only had sex with her once.
But, Martin is charged with repeated rapes. In addition to Martin and Jackson, five others including a woman, Jessica Carr, also face charges in connection with the case. The mother of the child was issued a summons to appear in court.
Investigators believe the attacks happened for more than a year across East and West Baton Rouge Parishes.
