WALKER - Arm wrestling is an ancient sport, but it's currently undergoing a boom in popularity thanks to the hit tv show Game of Arms: WBRZ Sports 2 paid a visit to Walker to learn from the local stars of that show, the Baton Rouge Roughnecks.

Roughnecks captian Craig Tullier is a 23-time arm wrestling champion, and long before he found fame on the tv show, he was winning championships and training others to do the same.

Along with his friend Ray Hennerichs, the two operate out of Hennerich's small but well-equiped training facility in Walker.

Although the idea of arm wrestling seems simple enough, Craig and Ray stress that there are a great number of details and techniques that distinguish the average "puller" from the best.

Teammate Josh "Turbo" Borrow said their tutelage has been invaluable.

"They teach you what you need to beat your opponent, and its up to you to utilize that information," Borrow says.

The show Game of Arms airs on AMC, and earlier this year set a record for the higest-rated premier of its kind on the network.
