Are you insurance ready for hurricane season?
BATON ROUGE - Hurricane season is here, and now is the time to make sure you're insurance ready. Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon stopped by 2une In Thursday to tell you everything you need to know to be prepared.
Forecasters are predicting a light hurricane season, but all it takes is one big storm to have a devastating effect on your life. Commissioner Donelon warned that it is important to always heed warnings and listen to what officials are telling you.
Since it's still early in the season, you need to do an inventory of your insurance needs as soon as possible. That goes double for your property insurance. Your property insurance deductible will determine how much you have to pay out of pocket should your home sustain damage during a storm.
