Alex Bregman Motivated By Mistake
BATON ROUGE - For all the accolades Alex Bregman earned in 2013, the LSU Shortstop said has been motivated by one of his few mistakes from last year.
Then a freshman, Bregman botched a ground ball in the 8th inning of a College World Series game against UCLA, allowing a crucial Bruins run to score.
This offeseason, a fan of an opposing team sent Bregman a picture of the error in order to make fun of him, but the 2013 All-American instead used it for motivation.
The picture now hangs in Bregman's locker as a reminder, in Bregman's words, "to never take a play off."
Bregman will be a leader for the team both in the locker room and in the lineup, and he said he loves being at the plate in clutch situations.
This year he'll also be trying to prove he can provide timely fielding in critical moments as well.
