AG wants killer's house arrest revoked
GONZALES- The Louisiana Attorney General filed out a motion to revoke convicted killer Stanley White's house arrest after the family of his victim said they spotted him violating those terms.
White killed a two-month-old baby nearly 20 years ago. A paperwork mistake allowed him to roam free until it was discovered he did not serve a day of his sentence. Last year White was sentenced to two years of house arrest.
Two months ago the victim's family ran into him at the IHOP on Siegen Lane as they were trying to have lunch.
"It's a sickening feeling," Rachel Deville said.
The motion for sanctions filed by the Attorney General's Office says, "The State respectfully requests that the court deem this to be a violation of the terms agreed to and accepted by all parties, and that the defendant's home incarceration be revoked; or in the alternative, that the court determine that the defendant was in contempt of the court's order and should be sanctioned with an appropriate period of incarceration.
The WBRZ Investigative Unit has learned that witnesses will be called to testify in this case. Those witnesses will be able to pinpoint that White was at the IHOP the day the family took pictures of him.
"The probation officer will be prepared to state that she never approved any trip to a restaurant," the motion goes on to say. "Furthermore, the defendant has admitted to her that he was at the location and that he knew it was not approved."
As this case continues to play out, all sides will head back to court on March 16. That's when a judge is expected to render her decision.
"We've had great support from the community and friends, telling us to stick with it and don't let it discourage us," Deville said.
Steven Moore is White's attorney. Moore called the conditions of White's probation vague and would like them clarified. He did not think his client's house arrest should be revoked.
