After attacks, police reviewing other cases
BATON ROUGE - Police are still searching for at least one attacker, breaking into homes and assaulting women who are home alone.
Tuesday, police released details on three attacks that have happened since Sunday. But, Wednesday, a neighborhood watchdog warned there may be an additional incident.
A Webb Park neighborhood crime post site warned the community of an attack in December where a 70-year-old woman reported a man wearing a ski mask tried to attack her, after he broke into her house near Reymond and South Eugene. Police are investigating the crime.
Most recently, three women- in their 70's and 30's- were attacked in Glen Oaks, Tara and Webb Park areas. Police are unsure if the incidents are connected, but there are similarities.
All women attacked provided the same description of the attacker: a man about six feet tall wearing a ski mask and gloves.
"We're reviewing some more cases to see if this is something that has been going on and it just has escalated to now," said Cpl. L'Jean McKneely.
Police will continue to patrol the streets, looking for suspicious activity.
"It's more of an awareness," said McKneely. "Police are on a heightened alert, knowing this is happening."
Police encourage people to call with any tips. If you see anything suspicious, call 911.
