17th annual open car show
PLAQUEMINE- It's almost time for the Baton Rouge Corvette Club's 17th annual Open Car Show.
This morning News 2's Josh Eachus was in Plaquemine at the Hop-N-Shop Deli to take a look at some of the cars, and find out more about the fundraising event.
All of the money from the car show is donated to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
"Giving to the worthy cause of St. Jude is really important to Plaquemine," said Christine Hebert. "Plaquemine has always promoted and sponsored many types of community events."
The event gives the Corvette Club a chance to show off their sweet rides, while at the same time raising money for a great charity.
It doesn't only appeal to people in Louisiana either. The past couple of years, the car show has seen visitors from all over the country.
"I love to see the beauty and craftsmanship of the cars," said Hebert. "All the things that people do to put the cars back together is awesome."
The Car Show will be held on Saturday, April 18th, at the Waterfront Park in Plaquemine.
For more information on the event and what to expect you can visit the Baton Rouge Corvette Club's website.
