13-Year-Old dies after accidental shooting
PRAIRIEVILLE - A 14-year-old boy was arrested in the alleged accidental shooting death of a 13-year-old boy, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office.
Lt. Col. Bobby Webre says 13-year-old Christian Crain was shot in the head while playing with two other teens in a bedroom at 14269 Oak Meadow St.
The 14-year-old confessed to smoking marijuana, accidentally shooting Crain and disposing of the gun in the backyard of the mobile home.
The gun used in the shooting was stolen from a vehicle in a nearby neighborhood a few days before the shooting, according to Webre.
The juvenile was booked into the St. James Detention Center on charges of negligent homicide, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a handgun by a minor and possession of marijuana.
Judy Himel, 44, Danielle Gaudin, 25 and 18-year-old Devin Himel were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
