A Donaldsonville woman was killed in a crash on Interstate 10 in Ascension Parish just west of Sorrento, this morning. State Police say 25 year-old Denise Dumas died after her car was rear-ended by a pickup truck. Investigators say 46 year-old Anthony Jackson was the driver of the pickup truck....

Two people went to the hospital after a crash in Baton Rouge. It happened in the 2100 block of North Acadian Thruway near Fairfield Avenue around 11 this morning. The patients were transported to Baton Rouge General Mid City with injuries.

A pedestrian was killed after a hit and run crash around 3 a.m. Baton Rouge Police say two men were walking in the 4900 block of Constitution Avenue. Detectives say someone driving a dark colored SUV hit one of the men and fled the scene.

Update: 61-year-old Solomon James Falgout, Jr. of Houma died in a plane crash near the Houma Airport early this morning.
Falgout left the airport around 6 a.m. this morning. His last radio traffic came about five minutes after he took off.
Investigators aren't sure what caused the crash...

A single-engine plane crashed around 1 p.m. just south of the Houma-Terrebonne airport. The Courier in Houma reported that authorities have confirmed at least one death in the crash. Louisiana State Police say two tractor trailers crashed on I-10 eastbound between Gramercy and LaPlace. One caught fire. It was hauling cardboard boxes.

Denham Springs native Michael Cote' died in a Black Hawk helicopter crash outside at the Balad Air Base, 50 miles north of Baghdad, Iraq. The U.S. military says 12 others were injured when the chopper went down. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 10 on the Mississippi River Bridge are closed this morning because of a deadly crash around 3 a.m. According to Acadian Ambulance at least one person died in the crash. Police are diverting traffic to US Highway 190 over the Old Mississippi River Bridge.
