    BATON ROUGE- Heavy smoke from a kitchen fire killed a family dog, according to the St. George Fire Department. They said the two-story dwelling, on Lakes Boulevard, was covered in smoke. The residents were not injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation. more »

    BATON ROUGE - The Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library has reopened now that power has been restored. The library closed immediately this morning after a sudden power failure.
