ZACHARY - A Zachary man is in the hospital after police say his son tried to kill him with a kitchen knife.

Zachary Police arrested Frank Roberts, 18, in suspicion of attempted murder last night.

Chief David Courtney said they were called to a disturbance at the family's home on Old Towne Road around 4:30 p.m.

He said Roberts' father, 59-year-old Horace Clay, had stopped a fight between Roberts and his 14-year-old brother, and then Roberts got a kitchen knife and stabbed Clay in the face and neck.

Clay was taken to a local hospital in critical but stable condition.

Roberts was charged with attempted second-degree murder and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish jail.
