Zachary romps Plaquemine 64-28
ZACHARY - A much-anticipated showdown turned into a one-sided affair as Zachary built a big lead early on Plaquemine and cruised to a 64-28 win over the Green Devils on Friday night.
Everyone got in on the act early for the Broncos, as Terry Sullivan galloped in for a 9 yard touchdown to make the score 14-0, and Linsday Scott ran for a touchdown and threw for two more-all in the first quarter.
Trailing 22-0, Plaquemine employed a fake punt for a touchdown, as Louis Conerly hit Joe Keller for a 62-yard touchdown.
It wasn't nearly enough, as Scott immediately answered with a 75-yard touchdown pass to put Zachary up 36-7 at the end of the first quarter.
Plaquemine takes its first loss of the season and falls to 5-1, while Zachary improves to 5-1 with the win.
