Zachary Assistant Police Chief under investigation for sexual harassment
ZACHARY- The Attorney General's Office is investigating sexual harassment claims against the Assistant Police Chief of Zachary.
Darryl Lawrence is on paid administrative leave during the investigation.
Interim Police Chief David Courtney says the complaint came in last week and are from two female officers. He tells News 2 both claims against Lawrence are similar in nature. One involves direct contact, the other in-direct. News 2 learned the allegations are that Lawrence kissed one female officer, and sent sexually-explicit text messages to another.
Chief Courtney passed the investigation along to the AG's office, "because of the magnitude of the case."
News 2 stopped by Lawrence's home Tuesday night for comment. His stepson told us he was not home, so we left contact information, but never heard back from Lawrence by news time.
