Yemeni officials say a woman has been arrested on suspicion of sending the two mail bombs found yesterday on cargo planes in the United Arab Emirates and England.

Yemen's president says the United States and the United Arab Emirates provided him with information that identified the woman as a suspect, and security forces had surrounded the house where she was believed to be.

A security official later told The Associated Press the woman had been arrested.

U.S. investigators said the mail bombs were headed to two synagogues in Chicago.

A member of the House Homeland Security Committee, California Congresswoman Jane Harman, says the bombs were rigged to be activated by cell phone and a timer.

U.S. officials have temporarily banned all cargo shipments from Yemen, and the U.S. Postal Service says it's also stopped accepting inbound international mail originating in Yemen.
