Wreck may have doomed 3 teens in 1970
ELK CITY, OKLAHOMA- Oklahoma State Troopers say a car recovered from a lake last week showed signs of an accident.
The wrecked car yielded three bodies, teens who disappeared in 1970.
The Chevy Camaro and another car were recovered from the lake as troopers were testing sonar equipment. They found the cars near a boat ramp on Foss Lake.
Authorities now believe they've solved the disappearances of six people.
Troopers say the Camaro was running when it hit the water and speed was a factor.
The impact damaged the radiator fan, a motor mount and the fuel pump. They say the evidence does not suggest foul play.
