Wreck leaves hundreds of BR residents in the dark
BATON ROUGE - An 18-wheeler hit a utility pole and left hundreds in the dark this afternoon in Baton Rouge, according to police.
The wreck happened in the 2900 block of Baton Rouge around 3:30 p.m. There were no injuries.
Entergy reported more than 1,500 customers from the City Park Lake east were affected. The area includes the Perkins Road overpass, where many businesses and restaurants are located.
Officers were out directing traffic near the wreck because traffic signals were also out.
