EARLIER REPORTS-
BATON ROUGE - Traffic officials reopened one lane of traffic on I-10 West at Perkins Tuesday after an accident involving multiple 18-wheelers.
Authorities were detouring traffic off the Acadian Exit north to US 190, and are still warning people to avoid the interstate because of congestion.
Cpl. L'Jean McKneely with the Baton Rouge Police said no one was hurt in the wreck, but one of the trucks involved overturned and ruptured a fuel tank. It spilled about 100 gallons of diesel onto the highway, which the fire department is cleaning up.
Curt Monte with Baton Rouge Fire said it may take a couple of hours to fully clean the highway.
