World's oldest active pilot
PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA- The oldest active pilot in the world lives in Northern California at 95-years-old according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
Peter Weber, Jr. took on a flight last month at 95 years, 4 months and 23 days old. He flew three looping circles around the airfield near Sacramento on March 30.
The oldest pilot ever was 105 year-old Cole Kugel. Kugel lived in Longmont, Colorado, but he died in 2007.
Weber says he's in a new category, the oldest qualified pilot still licensed and flying solo. He's a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and flies about twice a month. His flying career spans 72-years.
