BATON ROUGE - In the Baton Rouge area, one postal worker worked Christmas Day delivering priority items, and WBRZ News 2 was along for the ride.
Not all the gifts are under the tree before sunrise Christmas morning. That's where Gregory Green steps in.
"Hopefully that makes somebody's day," said Green, a city carrier with the USPS.
He's making rounds with last minute packages and presents to deliver early Christmas morning.
"Got a call from Santa that they had a few packages he couldn't get to," Green said. "So I gave him the OK."
His efforts don't go unnoticed. Ten-year old Jolie Carpenter saw the mailman outside and decided to spread some cheer with a chocolate reindeer cupcake.
"It's chocolate and pretzels for the ears and a wafer for the mouth," Carpenter said. "And M&Ms for the nose and eyes."
