Women to take court at US Open quarterfinals
NEW YORK - Top-seed Serena Williams will be part of women's quarterfinal play at the US Open.
The defending champ is 64-4 this year heading into her meeting with Spain's Carla Suarez Navarro to open up the night session in Arthur Ashe Stadium.
But 2011 French Open champ Li Na and Ekaterina Makarova will determine the first women's semifinalist when they meet as part of the day session.
Second-seed Victoria Azarenka and No. 13 Ana Ivanovic have their weather-postponed fourth round match scheduled.
