WBRZ - Baton Rouge

Two women are expected to recover after a pickup truck ran off the road in Livingston Parish and landed upside down in a canal. It happened Thursday in Satsuma.

A sheriff's deputy found Laura McDonner and Rhonda Nerf trapped inside after seeing smoke coming from under a bridge on South Satsuma Road. Firefighters and EMS workers helped rescue the women. They were taken to the hospital.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
