Woman with machete scares off robbers
BATON ROUGE - Three men were arrested in connection with a home invasion Wednesday, one of them allegedly claimed to be a police officer.
Police say Clayton Dugan, Miles Moreno and Joel Scales broke into a house in the 400 block of St. Rose Avenue around 2:30 a.m.
Two women and a six-year-old were home at the time.
Jackie Bridgers says she was sleeping next to her daughter when it happened.
"Honestly, for a second there, I thought we were going to lose our lives," said Bridgers.
The two men who entered the home were armed with a gun and a knife. Bridges says they entered through a front porch window, then held her roommate and her daughter at gunpoint.
"The most horrifying thing was just sitting there, looking at my daughter," said Bridgers.
The men demanded money and drugs.
Bridgers grabbed a machete during the ordeal and scared the attackers off.
All three men face aggravated burglary and armed robbery charges. Moreno and Scales also face charges of impersonating a police officer.
