BATON ROUGE - Starbucks apologized to a Livingston Parish teacher who complained that a Baton Rouge barista drew what looked like a pentagram and the numbers "666" in the foam on her coffee.

No, it's not an April Fool's joke.

The teacher, Megan Pinion, posted the photo to Starbucks' corporate Facebook page on March 30. She said she was "appalled" to see the symbols, which are typically associated with Satanism or pagan beliefs.

"I love Starbucks and have always had great service there," Pinion told News 2. "My greatest concern was professionalism and the possible effects it could have if done again to someone who could react far more aggressively than I have."

The company issued an apology, and said in a statement to News 2 that they were taking the complaint seriously.

"This obviously is not the type of experience we want to provide any of our customers," a spokesperson said.

News 2 reached out to the store where the incident happened, but they referred us to a corporate spokesperson.

Pinion said she posted the photo not to seek attention, but to ensure something was done about the situation. She said despite a multitude of different kinds of comments her picture's received, she feels that she did the right thing.

"I have not taken offense to anything said and stand by my decision to report the inappropriate way my coffee was served," she said. "It was my customer right."
