Woman sentenced in silicone injection case
JACKSON, MS - A woman was sentenced to life in prison after her conviction in connection with the killing a Georgia woman through illicit silicone buttocks injections.
Tracey Lynn Garner, 53, was sentenced Tuesday in Hinds County Circuit Court after her conviction Friday of depraved heart murder and conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
Garner was charged in the death of Karima Gordon, 37, who, prosecutors say, was lured by another woman to Jackson by Garner to perform the injections.
Authorities say Gordon died from blood clots in her lungs a few days after being injected with a "silicone substance" March 16 at a house in Jackson.
Prosecutors say Gordon and a friend were referred to Garner by Natasha Stewart, an adult entertainer who goes by the name Pebbelz Da Model. Stewart was arrested Jan. 3 in Memphis, Tenn. and convicted of manslaughter in Garner's death. She is serving a seven year prison sentence.
