LAFAYETTE- TV reports Friday night suggested a woman may have had an encounter with a white truck, similar to the one Lafayette Police are looking for in connection with the disappearance of a college student.

Mickey Shunick vanished Saturday morning sometime after 2. Nearly a week later, police released images of a truck caught on video on the same streets where Shunick was riding her bike.

When the images were released, a woman told a reporter she was given a ride by a man driving a similar truck who offered to pay for sex.

"He says he rides around town all the time trying to pick up pretty girls" Tasha Patterson told Lafayette, LA, ABC affiliate KATC.

Patterson says throughout the car ride, the man offered her money in return for sex. She refused and he dropped her off without any trouble. Patterson described the truck as a white GMC Sierra 2500 Texas Edition.

So far, there is no official connection between the two incidents.
