Woman's Hospital delays move into new facility
BATON ROUGE - Woman's Hospital says it will delay the opening of its new Baton Rouge hospital and moving its patients because the building is not complete.
Woman's had scheduled the patient move for June 3.
Woman's President and Chief Executive Officer Teri Fontenot said Thursday staff training was set to begin Monday.
Hospital officials say they are working with its construction team on a revised completion schedule, which is expected to be finished by the week of April 23. A new move date will be announced at that time.
Stan Shelton, senior vice president for new campus development, said the delay will allow Woman's to make sure everything will operate smoothly when the facility does open.
