Woman's death ruled homicide
BATON ROUGE- A death investigation has been ruled a homicide, after a woman's body was found in a bayou off South Tiger Bend Saturday.
The East Baton Rouge Parish coroner said the woman died of blunt force trauma to her head, neck and chest. She was identified through fingerprints.
Wednesday, authorities returned to the area where the body was found to search for more evidence. People in the area reported seeing a helicopter circling above.
Authorities are not releasing the woman's name until her family can be notified. It was also not released if the woman was local or not.
