Woman robbed at gunpoint in her driveway

AMITE - Deputies in Tangipahoa Parish are looking for information regarding an armed robbery that happened around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Authorities said a homeowner was leaving her residence on Puleston Rd. in Amite when she was approached by two masked men who began to beat on the driver's side window of her vehicle.

The victim said they threatened her with a gun before attempting to break the window with a concrete block.

The woman opened the driver's side door and sprayed one of the assailants with pepper spray but the other subject reached into the car and grabbed her bag off the front seat, according to deputies.

Sheriff's deputies said the subjects, described as being slim and wearing dark clothing, fled on foot.
