Woman pleads guilty to embezzling $25K from furniture store
GONZALES - A 40-year-old woman will serve five years of supervised probation and pay restitution after she pleaded guilty to embezzling thousands of dollars from a Gonzales furniture store.
Shannon Desira, of St. Amant, will go to a restitution hearing Oct. 13 to determine how much she should pay back to her former employers.
Desira pleaded guilty Monday to one count of theft greater than $25,000.
Company officials said at the time of her arrest last year that she was fired in August 2014.
