Woman lying in middle of road with beer arrested in Monroe
MONROE - A woman who authorities say was laying in the middle of the street with a beer can laying next to her was arrested Thursday.
According to a report by TheNewsStar, Ouachita Parish sheriff's deputies arrested Evelyn Spence, 71, of West Monroe for lying in the middle of Baily Street in Monroe. Deputies found Spencer in the street after having to swerve their vehicle to avoid hitting her.
Deputies say that when they approached Spencer, she said, "I'm f***ing drunk," and that the "road looked comfortable."
Spencer was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center for disturbing the peace and aggravated obstruction of a highway of commerce. Bond was set at $200.
