Bossier City police are investigating a deadly car crash that killed a 50-year-old woman.

Police say the woman was driving eastbound on the Industrial Drive Extension when the vehicle crashed through a barricade where the road comes to a dead end.

The car then rolled over several times in a grassy area before coming to rest along a drainage ditch that runs parallel to I-20 south of the eastbound lanes.

Police say the woman was not wearing a seat belt and had to be removed from the car by Bossier City Fire Department personnel.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police suspect alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

The woman's name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
