A 34-year-old West Monroe woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash as she attempted to cross La. Highway 167.

State police say the crash occurred at about 8:40 p.m. Saturday when Rachel Walker was crossing the highway from the east side.

Troopers say as Walker attempted to cross the southbound lanes, she was struck by a vehicle.

Walker was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ouachita Parish Coroner's Office.

Authorities are searching for a red or maroon small SUV with damage to the front head lamp and hood area.
