Woman killed after her SUV hits tree
BELLE ROSE - State police say a 27-year-old Belle Rose woman was killed after her SUV ran off La. Highway 308 and struck a tree in Assumption Parish.
Troopers say Constance Pitts was driving in Belle Rose Tuesday when she failed to negotiate a left curve.
After striking the tree, troopers say the SUV rolled over and came to rest on its roof.
Investigators say Pitts, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Assumption Parish Coroner's Office.
