Woman dies in Monroe house fire
MONROE - A Monroe woman died in an early morning house fire.
The Monroe Fire Department said neighbor reported the fire at approximately 3:47 a.m. Thursday when he heard popping sounds and discovered the blaze.
When fire trucks arrived on the scene about five minutes later, the house was engulfed.
Nancy Fluck and her dog were later found dead inside the home.
The fire appeared to have started in the kitchen and utility area.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
