Woman describes finding man dead, shot in her shed
BATON ROUGE - A woman who let a homeless man take shelter in a shed in her backyard said she was shocked and scared that the man was found shot multiple times in the makeshift home.
Michael Rogers, 52, was found dead Friday morning by the good Samaritan who asked to remain anonymous.
"I came back. I saw the door down and I was coming back hollering for him. And I just saw him laying straight up ahead in there," the woman said.
The discovery was made on West Mckinley.
"I kept calling his name and he never did saying nothing. So I took that yellow broom and hit his leg and he didn't move," she said.
She described Rogers as a nice man who did handy work around the neighborhood.
Police believe Rogers' body could have been in the shed for days.
So far, police have no suspect or motive in the case.
