Woman commits suicide on interstate
Authorities in Arizona say a woman committed suicide by jumping out of her sister's pickup on Interstate 17 in Phoenix after she had just lost custody of her children. The Arizona Department of Public Safety says 36-year-old Brenda Ownby had left a court hearing and was riding in the back seat of the pickup with her sister and mother in the front. The two women told authorities Ownby was quiet and somber and then they heard the door open and she was gone. Ownby was struck by three cars and died immediately.
