Woman booked with stealing $103K from restaurant
BELLE CHASSE- A 38-year-old Terrytown woman has been booked with felony theft for allegedly stealing over $103,000 from the Belle Chasse restaurant she managed.
The Times-Picayune reports Plaquemines Parish sheriff's deputies arrested Kristen Carroll on Friday.
Sheriff Lonnie Greco said Carroll was employed there from July 2011 until June 2012.
Greco says Carroll's responsibilities included collecting cash from daily sales and preparing the daily bank deposits.
The owner, who was not identified, noticed missing cash in June 2012, after comparing receipts and deposits.
The suspect allegedly confessed a year ago and was fired. Deputies say she admitted to stealing the money to support her gambling habit.
It was unclear whether Carroll has an attorney.
