Woman booked after fatally stabbing boyfriend
NEW ORLEANS - A 21-year-old New Orleans woman is in custody after she allegedly confessed to officers that she stabbed her boyfriend to death inside his home early Monday.
Police booked Lynette Carter on charges of second-degree murder in the death of 45-year-old Gerald Pierre.
Police say they responded to a call shortly after midnight that claimed a man had been stabbed. When officers arrived they found Pierre inside the home with one stab wound to his body.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
During the investigation, police said Carter told officers she and Pierre were arguing and during the argument, she grabbed a knife and stabbed him to death.
