Woman arraigned, jailed in Pa. newborn abduction
PITTSBURGH - A 19-year-old woman has been jailed on $250,000 bond and ordered to have a mental health evaluation after she was arraigned on charges of kidnapping a 3-day-old infant from a Pittsburgh hospital by pretending to be a nurse.
Breona Moore, of McKeesport, was arraigned Friday by video from the Allegheny County Jail.
Police found the baby safe with Moore more than four hours after the alleged kidnapping Thursday at Magee-Women's Hospital of UPMC.
Police say Moore's family tipped them off after media reports of the kidnapping. Moore's relatives told police Moore had claimed to be pregnant for months, which they doubted.
