BATON ROUGE - A woman is in police custody after she allegedly stole an SUV to go on a crash-filled rampage with terrorizing the father of her child as the ultimate goal.

25-year-old Rachel Myles was booked on charges of attempted second degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, criminal damage to property, battery of a police officer, resisting an officer and auto theft after her arrest Tuesday.

Police said Myles stole a Mercury Mountaineer just after midnight Tuesday. Shortly after stealing the vehicle, she drove up into the yard of a residence on Washington Street that belongs to her child’s father. She crashed into a parked car and then drove the vehicle into the house itself, according to BRPD.

After colliding with the house, Myles proceeded to throw the SUV into reverse before piloting it back into the house. After the second crash, she again backed the SUV up and rammed into the hole in the house a third time.

Investigators said her child’s father and his girlfriend, along with the girlfriend’s daughter and the man’s infant daughter, were inside of the house and in the front room at the time of Myles’ vehicular assault.

The witnesses said that just before Myles crashed the vehicle into the house she shouted “B*tch, you gonna die tonight!”

After ramming the house three times, Myles backed the vehicle into the yard and proceeded to crash it into an RV that was parked in the driveway. Police said she repeated the ramming and reversing process she’d previously used on the house with the RV, putting the vehicle in reverse two more times and crashing back into her target.

BRPD said Myles then abandoned the stolen SUV in the middle of Washington Street, fleeing on foot into a night club located in the 1800 block of North Foster Drive.

Officers said the woman was arrested in the club, but when they tried to put her in the back seat of a police cruiser, she began violently resisting. While struggling with the arresting officers, she bit one of them on the upper chest and grabbed his testicles.

Police said they noticed Myles exhibited many signs of intoxication including red eyes, slurred speech, poor balance and a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on her breath.

Myles did not have identification on her, but records indicated her license was suspended. She was booked into EBR Parish Prison after submitting a breath test that registered a BAC of .086%.
