Woman accused of burning child in bath
BATON ROUGE - Police arrested a woman after they said she badly scalded a child in her care.
Investigators charges Ebony Allen, 28, with cruelty to juveniles after her arrest Thursday.
Police said Allen was caring for the child and called 911 to report they'd been burned or had an allergic reaction to something. Investigators said Allen told them the chid's mother told her to bathe them using dish soap, and when she did the child's skin became red and started peeling.
EMS took the child to the hospital, and investigators said they had second and third-degree burns likely caused by hot water.
Officers booked Allen into the East Baton Rouge Parish jail.
