GONZALES- Emotions ran high in an Ascension Parish courtroom as a woman accused of hitting another woman with her car appeared in court.
Investigators say, Kathleen Fitzpatrick hit 22-year old Crisy Hadley who was walking on Highway 42 and never stopped. Investigators in Iberville Parish caught up to Fitzpatrick driving the car they believe was used in the hit and run.
Today was particularly hard for Hadley's family.
"I just want her to say I'm sorry," Monica Chambless, Hadley's mother said.
News 2 has learned a plea deal could be offered to Fitzpatrick. However, details surrounding that deal are still reportedly in the works. No one would comment on that issue.
However, Chambless said she is ready to move on.
"What my daughter would like to see happen is for her to get her life together," Chambliss said. "I hope she takes the opportunity to do that."
Fitzpatrick is due back in court next month.
