Witness: student held gun to classmate's face
BATON ROUGE- Two students were arrested at a high school Tuesday, accused of having a gun and pointing it at other students.
The two tenth graders were arrested at Tara High. Agents from a special school task force said one of the students had the .38 caliber handgun in their booksack.
According to witnesses, one of the students, Jesus Morejon, 17, took the gun and held it up to a classmate's face.
After the incident, Morejon returned the gun to an unidentified 16-year-old who told deputies he bought the gun illegally off the street.
Both students are charged with illegal carrying of a weapon on school property, with Morejon also being charged with aggravated assault.
The underage student will be booked into Juvenile Detention, while Morejon will be booked into parish prison.
Deputies said when they found the gun, it was not loaded.
