Witness describes attack on police officers
BATON ROUGE- A witness said the man who stabbed two Baton Rouge Police officers Monday was in an argument over money before the officers arrived at a house on North 24th Street.
Police did not release the names of the officers who were stabbed, but said their injuries are non life-threatening. One was 29-years-old and has been on the force since 2009; the other is 42-years-old and with BRPD since 2003.
Bradford Louis Etheredge, 37, was shot in the incident and died after attacking the officers.
Reportedly, the landlord was trying to collect a rent payment from him. The police were called when Etheredge and the person began to argue. At some point when the officers were there, the situation escalated, resulting in the stabbing and shooting.
The incident remains under investigation by Baton Rouge Police.
