NEW ORLEANS - Another round of wintry precipitation has returned to north Louisiana.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for areas north of Interstate 20 until noon Thursday.

Snow is falling in Shreveport-Bossier City, while a wintry mix is hitting the ground in Monroe.

Several public school districts decided to close Thursday, but a number of others are open.

State police say bridges and overpasses will be a problem during the morning hours.

As a precaution, state highway official closed Interstate 49 inside the city of Shreveport and to the Arkansas line, and Interstate 220 is closed around north Shreveport and Bossier City.

Central Louisiana is under a winter weather advisory until noon Thursday.

Forecasters say light freezing rain is likely during the morning turning to rain by afternoon.
