Winner of LSU auction just a teen
17-year-old Scott Lloyd is the big winner you've been hearing about. A trip down Victory Hill with the band, running out on the field with the team, two seats in the press box...all for 15,600 dollars.
The teen didn't come up with the money. In fact, he didn't even know he'd won until his family made it halfway to Baton Rouge from Arlington, Texas.
Lloyd's uncle Frank Moran actually made the final winning bid. Moran decided to give the "Gameday Experience" to his nephew and his son Lance Wilks. Wilks and Lloyd say they didn't see it coming. Their uncle says the price tag is well worth the day they'll get to have Saturday.
LSU held the auction to raise money for LSU athletics. According to communications director Herb Vincent, fans may get more chances like this one in the future. Vincent called it a creative way to raise money, and if they find more ways to raise money creatively, ticket prices won't have to go up as often.
