Wild police chase in ends in Denham Springs neighborhood
DENHAM SPRINGS - A wild police chase ended with bullet holes in two vehicles, including a police unit, and the suspect in the hospital.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office says they responded to a domestic battery complaint at approximately 9:30 Sunday morning.
Officials say the suspect, 20-year-old Jessie R. Mouille, was uncooperative and resisted arrest. Mouille already had an active warrant for illegal possession of stolen things.
Deputies say Mouille ran from the officers and gained access to a vehicle and drove into an open field. A witness on scene tolded WBRZ News 2, he saw Mouille driving in a Livingston Parish Sheriff's unit.
The Sheriff's office says Mouille attempted to ram their units and run over the deputies that were on foot.
Witness say Mouille crashed the cop car he was driving in a field off Robbie Lee Drive, and then gained access to a white Jeep Cherokee.
Officials say Mouille was eventually caught at a convenience store located on Arnold Road.
Mouille was taken to the hospital where he suffered non-life threatening injuries.
