BATON ROUGE, La. - Trina Edwards says her husband, former governor Edwin Edwards, is feeling much better and should be going home soon.
Edwards posted on her facebook that "He is officially home and resting."
She also says the former Governor has canceled or rescheduled some upcoming events so he can rest.
Edwards had pneumonia and was taken by ambulance on Saturday to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, where he was in the intensive care unit until Sunday evening.
Edwards is 84. He served four terms as governor, then served more than eight years in federal prison after being convicted of racketeering.
He began three years on probation in early July, after he completed six months of home detention.
